Since opening in November 2000, ExCeL London has enjoyed exceptional success and has become the home to many of London’s top trade events and the UK’s largest consumer shows. In 2012 ExCeL London will play a central role in the Olympic Games, hosting a total of 6 Olympic sports and 4 Paralympic events.
The construction of Phase 2 which represents a further £160 million investment in the venue has now commenced.
The extension will increase the size of the current event space by over 50% taking it to just under 100,000 square metres and will include a covered pedestrian walkway, a 5,000 seated semi-permanent auditorium, conference & meeting rooms, permanent productions kitchens, enhanced underground car parking spaces and additional exhibition floor space.
